――While shooting in Japan, how did the language barrier affect you? How did you solve any issues or miscommunications?
Antoni:I was worried that the language barrier would provide a certain challenge, but in the end, I think it helped forge strong connections throughout all of our conversations. While our lovey translator Lena did her work, the hero and I would have prolonged moments of eye contact where we would connect in a very intimate way. It helped build trust.
Karamo:I wasn’t sure what to expect and the result was so fulfilling and so exciting. I think the entire team would agree it is some of our best work ever.
Bobby:It actually did not affect us at all! We had an amazing translator who was always really great at translating our words and emotions.
――What do you want the audience to take away from the series?
Antoni:We are all different but equal in terms of our needs and right to be heard.Everyone has a compelling, human story to tell, in the US and Japan alike.
Karamo:That we are all humans and we are all the same. And we should treat each other with love, respect and human kindness
Bobby:I hope the audience takes away the importance of not only communicating with each other, but also truly communicating with yourself.
